Medical Equipment Suppliers

If you provide eldercare, then medical equipment and supplies are the tools of your trade.

The medical needs of elders are usually extensive, and caregivers routinely help and support elders with limited mobility, hearing and vision loss, incontinence, pain management, physical and occupational therapy, restricted diets and complex medication management.

The equipment involved can include wheelchairs and walkers, aids for reaching and bending, oxygen equipment, syringes and diabetic testing supplies—even enteral feeding supplies. All of this is in addition to supports for daily living, such as shower chairs, elevated toilet seats and grab bars. Some of what you need is available at your local pharmacy, but for the rest you need a reliable medical equipment supplier.

To find the best suppliers in your area, ask your elder’s healthcare providers for referrals. Check the Yellow Pages under “Medical Equipment and Supplies” and search online as well. Even if you don’t want to purchase equipment or supplies online, the sources you find there will provide product information and pricing for comparison shopping. Don’t assume that the supplier who offers the best price on one item will generally offer the best prices on everything your elder needs. Prices on similar items can vary widely.
